Terms & Conditions
Here at Groomers Delights it is my intention to offer a stress free, one to one grooming experience for you and your dog. Please read the following.
Your dog’s comfort and safety are my top priority at Groomers Delights. Please make sure that your dog has been given the opportunity to be relieved and walked before their groom, as this will ensure that they are not agitated and will get the maximum enjoyment from their grooming experience.
I will not perform any grooming procedures that will cause any pain or a level of stress that I think is excessive. This can include nail trimming.
For senior dogs the grooming experience can be stressful. At Groomers Delights I will try to and make sure the experience is as comfortable and stress free as possible. Only grooming work that your dog will tolerate will be carried out as I will not groom any dog if it causes undue stress.
The style requested by the owner will be attempted to the best of my ability, however if your dog does become unduly stressed, I will groom your dog to ensure cleanliness and comfort only.
Humanity Before Vanity
The Dogs Well-being
You as the owner, will advise me of any medical, physical, behavioural or emotional issues, allergies or pre-existing conditions and any treatments they are receiving prior to their grooming appointment. Such conditions may include but are not restricted to prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections or skin problems.
In the even that I discover any conditions or problems during the groom I will notify you or in urgent cases you will be contacted once discovered. Groomers Delights cannot be held responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming or associated treatments.
Fleas and Parasites
It is your responsibility as a dog owner to make sure your dog is free from any parasites before it is groomed. Groomers Delights cannot administer any preventative treatments. If your dog is found to have fleas once the grooming process has started, you will be called and asked to collect your dog immediately and payment for the full appointment will be necessary as the salon and my home will need to be sterilised thoroughly. I will not allow your dog to return into the salon to complete the groom until they have been properly treated and there are no traces of fleas or any other parasites.
Matting & De-matting
Please keep in mind that a matted coat can cause numerous skin conditions such as itching, irritation, and skin infections. Removing heavily matted coats includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds that become hidden in your dogs matted coat. Heavy matting can also trap moisture on the dog’s skin which in turn can cause fungus or bacteria to grow causing skin irritations. Groomers Delights will not be held responsible for any pre-existing conditions the removal will reveal, however any unusual conditions found you will be informed.
If your dog is heavily matted, there is only so much we can do, your dog needing to be brushed through excessively to remove matting is not fair to your dog and may cause pain and stress and or burns from the brushes. The coat will therefore likely need to be cut short and an additional £10 will be added to your existing service.
If I am unable to complete the full groom due to excessive matting, then Groomers Delights reserves the right to stop the groom if started and request that an additional appointment is made for such work to be completed. All additional work will be at the expense of the owner.
Aggression and Dangerous behaviour
I have the right to work in a safe environment and therefore Groomers Delights reserves the right to refuse any groom or treatment at any time. If I
feel I am unable to carry out or continue a groom or treatment, then I will stop immediately and you as the owner will be responsible for payment of the work carried out up until this point.
If your dog shows signs of aggression or biting and I feel I can continue, then an appropriate muzzle or cone may be used during any grooming treatment.
If your dog has behaviour problems, please let me know when the appointment is made. Please also ensure that you as the dog owner lets me know of any signs of aggression in the past.
Injuries/Illness
If your dog falls ill or subject to accidental injury at Groomers Delights, I will always administer suitable first aid and either call yourself to collect your dog or take your dog to your registered vet immediately. If the fault of the injury lies with Groomers Delights, I am fully insured.
Cancellations and Missed appointments
I will always endeavour to send a reminder message either two or at least one day before your appointment.
As I am self-employed, I would be grateful if any cancellations are made at least 24 hours before your appointment so I can try and fill your time slot.
Any cancellations made within 24 hours will result in a deposit being requested upon rescheduling. Any cancellations made within a few hours will result in a full upfront payment for the rescheduled appointment and any missed appointments will result in payment requested for the missed appointment and a deposit for the rescheduled appointment.
Complaints
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the service received, please contact myself after the appointment and I will be happy to discuss and hopefully resolve any issues fairly and promptly.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to read my terms and conditions and trust you understand the need for them. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Groomers Delights prior to your scheduled appointment.
